OK, so this is a fancy way to describe wild flowers (itself, a fancy way of describing flowering weeds…). When we bought the house, it was still surrounded by construction rubble. The first thing we had to do was clean that up somewhat (hence the spiffy tractor shot among the random images here).

At present, we’ve planted quite a few trees near to the house, encouraged lots of wild flowers—the coreopsis are taking over—a modest bed of day lilies, and of course a lilac bush.
