There was a pretty cool barn on the property when we bought the house. It had a car shed attached, and a was itself decent sized. Unfortunately, the previous owners had stripped the slate roof for money and didn’t bother stabalizing the structure, and less than a month after we moved in, the barn blew down in a wind storm.
These two alternating images are all that is left. Well, sort of. We had the hand hewn beams pulled out and some neighbors built their house with them. Once the beams were pulled out, the local fire department came and did a practice burn. All that’s left is the foundation.
Note the propane tank right next to the barn…by practice burn I mean they practiced keeping the tank from exploding just a few feet from a a very large fire!
