The Gipper is Dead

Updated: 29 May 2007 by David Herren

This post goes out with a special welcome to my fans "The Murdocks."

The International Herald Tribune recently published a long piece on the opinion page that had me pumping the air with my fist. Entitled Earth to Republicans: The Gipper is Dead, it addresses the sad, homogenous field of Repubtard candidates for the presidency. Here's one of my favorite lines:

They don't seem to get that there is not another major brand in the United States - not Wal-Mart, not GE, not even Denny's nowadays - that would try to sell a mass product with such a demographically homogeneous sales force.

And that's only half the problem. The other half is that the Republicans don't have a product to sell.

I'm not thrilled about the Democratic candidates by any means, but man, the Repubtards are really scraping the bottom of the barrel with this lot. Read the whole article here. Three of these 'tards were even stupid enough to hold up their hands and confess that they're so dumb they don't believe in evolution. This is precisely WHY we need a New England Intellectual in the office--only a 'tard could want someone as stupid as them in the most powerful office in the world.

The irony of the Repubtards not having anything to sell this time around, is that they have been extremely successful in "selling" nothing for years. They somehow got the 50% of Americans who are of below average intelligence to vote against their own best interests in support of the Repubtard candidacy of Dubya in two successive elections. I mean I know it's not hard to pull the wool over the eyes of someone of below average intelligence, but they managed to do it to the full 50% of the population in that demographic, adding the upper 1% of the ultra-rich. I have to admit that was pretty impressive.

The IHT is published in Europe by the New York Times and occasionally they share their articles. A quick tip. If you don't have a free subscription to the New York Times, you can often find the same article freely available at the IHT.
